To wear a veil or not to wear a veil?

It seems as though the veil has become a wedding accessory that many brides seem to be foregoing on their big day. Historically, there are many stories regarding the origin of the bride's veil. Some people believed that evil spirits were attracted to the bride, so her face was covered with a veil in order to conceal her features and confuse the spirits. Others say that the veil originated due to the circumstances of arranged marriages. After the ceremony, the veil was lifted to reveal the bride's features. This was to keep the groom from backing out of the deal if he didn't like what he saw! Crazy!

Today, the veil is meant to signify joy and highlight the bride's appearance and features. Many brides choose not to wear a blusher (the part of the veil that covers the face) and some brides choose not to wear a veil at all!

Every bride has her own unique style and this post will explore all the alternatives there are to wearing a veil on your wedding day!
