Sweethearts Say "I Do!"

Monday, March 2, 2015

My boyfriend and I are both from Staten Island, New York, yet it took attending the same college over 100 miles away to officially meet. Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT brought us together, just as it did many other couples. If Vin and I do get married one day, I definitely want to incorporate QU into our wedding in some way...

Here are some awesome ideas for incorporating your alma mater into your wedding day!

Since many colleges, especially QU, have gorgeous campuses , taking engagement photos on site is a popular idea.

Some couples like to take it a step further and actually have the ceremony and/or reception at their alma mater! If you're thinking of doing this, check out this Buzzfeed article about the most beautiful colleges you can get married at.

Another adorable idea is to have your wedding tables named for special places on campus or things associated with the school! You can also take pictures on campus holding different numbers, frame them, and display them on each table.

A college mascot groom's cake is another great and memorable way to show your spirit on your wedding day!

How awesome would it be to have your guests sign a jersey instead of a guest book? You can frame it after the wedding and hang it up in your home!
